Three Cheers for Third Year

April 19, 2019 by Front Desk

One year older, one year wiser. Good Gorilla has continued to grow and adapt in the last three years, and we cannot believe the milestones we’ve overcome. This community we have and are continuing to shape, could not have happened without all our friends, families, members and neighbours. As a thank you, April 1st was filled with celebratory cakes, pizza, drinks, and giveaways.

We are grateful for everyone who has invested time in Good Gorilla. Whether it be one month or one year, thank you for journeying with us.

To another fantastic year together!🎉

Good Gorilla Gratitude for 2018!

December 3, 2018 by Kassem Ahmed

This year flew right by. At Good Gorilla, we are so happy to have wonderful members, generous sponsors, and many, many resourceful partners. You all make the space truly amazing. We may only be 2.5 years young, but our community is strong and continuously growing.

Highlights of the year:

  • Ongoing support from Scotch to all of our members that needed a break and good puppy love
  • Potluck lunches, wine tastings, thirsty Thursdays, game nights, and many more events where all of our members gathered and exchanged
  • The support from all our members – you truly make coming to work as a freelancer an exceptional experience

The ROOM-ie Addition

December 3, 2018 by Kassem Ahmed

Our new phonebooth from ROOM is in hot demand. It is soundproof, well-ventilated, sustainable, and portable around our space. The only complaint we have heard so far is that our members want a second one!

This is the perfect getaway for private calls, audio or video recordings. It is the perfect accompaniment to any coworking or open workspace.

Make sure to stop by Good Gorilla for your tour to see what the fuss is all about. Book a tour today, stay for the day and try it for yourself.

Diversity + Inclusion at Good Gorilla

November 2, 2018 by Kassem Ahmed

On October 4, 2018 we had the lovely opportunity to host and take part in Kith+common’s Diversity + Inclusion: Organizational Insights and Tools for a More Inclusive Workplace workshop. This is what we have to say about the event:

“Kith+common brought invaluable conversations to our space. Jessie’s openness and confidence in being vulnerable drew all attention and focus from the participants, which made for easy group participation.
They were professional and engaging with previously uncomfortable subjects, thus giving participants the tools to have open conversations in the workplace about diversity and inclusion.
Our members’ feedback was unanimous where everyone left feeling elated to bring the conversation forward to their own environments.”

Since this workshop, we have added additional fields to our member portal and look for continual feedback from the community to make sure Good Gorilla is Diverse + Inclusive. Let’s be different like others, instead of different from others.

Thank you again, Jessie from Kith+common!

Land Rights Acknowledgement

We wish to acknowledge this land on which Good Gorilla operates. For thousands of years, this is the sacred territorial land of the Haudenosaunee, the Anishinaabe, the Wendat and Petun First Nations, the Seneca, and most recently, the Mississaugas of the Credit River. Today, this meeting place is still the home to many Indigenous people from across Turtle Island, and we are grateful to have the opportunity to work on this land.
